About: Dr. Charles

“Dr. Peter Charles is currently a consultant neurosurgeon at the University Hospital of the West Indies and an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Surgery at University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona. He has done extensive research and received further certification in the area of spinal surgery.

Dr. Charles is a past student of Campion College and a graduate of the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, where he obtained a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the institution and also a Doctorate of Medicine (DM) in Neurosurgery.

He served as Resident at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) from 2002 to 2008, before working as Senior Resident at the Kingston Public Hospital in 2009. In 2010, he was Chief Resident at the Regina General Hospital in Saskatchewan, Canada before returning to the UHWI to fill a similar post in 2011.
